William was the youngest son of Edward and Honoria Hunt and was born on 10th May 1890 at Karyrie and he died 16th September 1965 at Birchip.

William enlisted on 6th June 1916 and did his training at the Seymour Camp. On 21st October 1916, William sailed from Port Melbourne on the Troopship, the "Port Melbourne" and they disembarked at Plymouth, England on 28th December 1916.

He served in England and France and after serving a total of 939 days, he returned to Australia on 1st April 1919 and was discharged on 23rd June 1919.

William's Son, Maurice Hunt, served in World War 2 and his Grandson, Francis Hunt, served in Vietnam.

William Hunt and Roger Hogan.

William and Roger were good Mates before they went into the Army and they stayed in contact when they were overseas. Roger was K.I.A. in France on 29th July 1918.
